Heart of Dasia (HOD) Foundation is a registered charitable Non-Governmental Organization founded by Victoria Naa Shika Quaye in March, 2018. HOD foundation is committed to providing wholesome water and basic educational needs for schools in Ghana.
The foundation works in partnership with Naaviq Company Limited and philanthropists to fulfill its mandate. About 13% of Ghana’s population lacks access to safe water (WHO, 2015). Several factors contribute to this lack in access to safe water, and particularly for the rural communities in Ghana.
These factors include lack of expertise to maintain water systems including wells, boreholes, hand pumps, etc. that were provided by the state or other well-intentioned organizations. Just as the name ‘Dasia’ means “God’s gift”, we at HOD Foundation strongly believe water and children are also gifts from God. For this reason, HOD Foundation is able and willing to volunteer in capacity building towards national development in view of achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6.1.
Victoria has worked in the water industry for over 15years focusing on clean portable water for every individual in Ghana. She studied communication studies at Ghana Institute of Journalism and water treatment at Center for Educational Advance Training (USA). Her interest for clean and potable water has edge me to find herself in the borehole and water treatment industry just to be more knowledge in; Production of mineral water, Borehole drilling techniques, Water treatment, its equipment and accessories.
